Searched through Perf Mods forum, so hope this isn't a repost. Might be of value to many on the forum, especially newbs that join, to have a quick reference list to Performance Mods, how much they cost, the value they provide in terms of HP, and any concerns. Since there is a ton of knowledge on the site, could come up with a strong comprehensive list and post as a sticky for reference. I'd be willing to update, from least expensive and most expensive, as people add info. All mods might not have a definite HP improvement, but they may bring value to performance like the clutch kit or Boomer's shifter kit.

BS Example: Boomer Air Filter, $50, 3-5 HP, drop-in lifetime filter, no concerns around warranty or engine life....

Something along those lines......any help appreciated....

I think thats a great idea! Anyone want to make a small list and I can make it a sticky for all the people looking in that department

I'll start listing some, but I need help as I have no real experience with these items....I'll add some that I've heard of, and hopefully others will provide feedback and more upgrades....

X-Metal 172 Degree T-stat - $28 - cooler engine operation - no effect on warranty

X-Metal Shifter - site being updated, and I don't know price - never miss 3rd gear again unless you just can't drive for sheit - should not effect warranty

K&N Aircharger Intake System - $300 - more air? - no effect on warranty?

Magnaflow Catback and Exhaust - $470 - 13 HP and 22 Ft/lbs improvement - should not effect warranty

X-Metal Flywheel and Performance Clutch - $1500 - massive improvement in durability and performance over stock clutch - should not effect warranty on motor

Guys, this is basically just copied off of Boomer's site, but I've heard a few of you talk about this.....any input appreciated around these items or others....I will continue to look.

intake tornado $19.95 dont affect anything!:D

Nah really, how about supercharger system what base price $6500?

Boomers mid pipes $350

Vec II $950? I think

No hp but Caltracs for $400.00 will give you a huge improvement in 1/4 mile and 0-60...

Flash for QC's....again peak hp not dramantically improved but overall performance, operating temps, shift points, red line all greatly improved...

Shit eatin grin you get every time you push the red button.....priceless...

upgrading pistons, may be warrentied depending on installer and a must if your adding power adders. about $1600 for Diamond pistons I think not including labor to install.

i had about 200 buck in my nitrous setup i picked up over a half of a second but spun twice as bad traction was a main issue for me

i had a set of drag radials they made a big difference

Anyone thought of doing a excel spreadsheet or database type setup with forumlas to calculate the HP to $ ratio in a nice organized manner with sortable ability? I'd be willing to do it but it'd be slow cuz I've got a million things going at once right now, which is why I'm seeing if anyone else can/will do it.

I don't mind doing a simple excel sheet, but I don't have the experience with the mods....as long as we get enough replies and data, the actual sheet shouldn't take much, so I volunteer....

Today, as well as the weekend, is rediculous busy for me....hope everyone keeps posting.....I will continue updating on Monday, doubt I'll get much time on the forum, maybe a few minutes this morning....

Thanks....

Yep, data is key, I'll do some research in a couple weeks if this doesn't take off, theres not THAT many (consumer) mods that yield hp so it shouldn't be too hard. I'm gonna see if I can't find a simple php script somewhere and hook it up to an mysql database, that'd make things easier.

1. Bassani Headers(19 RWHP): $730-$1000 depending where you buy it.

2. K&N CAI(RWHP Disputed): $250-$300 depending where you buy it.

3. Magnaflow Cat-Back(12 RWHP): $425-$450 depending where you buy it.

4. B&B Mids Hi-Cats(10 RWHP): $525 from B&B.

5. Stage II flash(40 RWTQ): $720 PCM included.

One quick note, my base dyno included the Mag Catback and K&N CAI. 421 RWHP and 442 RWTQ. So either I have a strong truck from the factory(Most QC dyno around 400 RWHP and 410 RWTQ); the Magnaflow and K&N Combo is responsible; the Magnaflow is responsible for all the gains.

The PCM gave me 424 RWHP and 482 RWTQ.

Need to dyno again to see the gain with Headers and Mid pipes.

Also this headers and mids setup needed the least welding/modification. The headers and Mids go in the stock position. They fabricated a small section to bolt up to the mids flanges and welded it to the Catback.

Will post pics sometime...

Hope this helps...

I only have the centerforce/fidenza flywheel for now and it definately revs up way quicker in nuetral and gear...and the cluthch will snap necks! I chirped going into 4th gear at the track!
