Whats up guys and gals. New guy in New Orleans, Kenner specifically. I'm not an owner just yet but will be soon.

I posed this question on the SRT10 forum also. I'm set on a Reg cab as apposed to the quad cab, but what recommendations do y'all have on specific years 04/05 or 2006. Any reliability issues with either model year.

Anyways, look forward to talking with everybody.

Welcome to the VTCOA! There are some common problems such as oil cooler and power steering lines leaking, but nothing that a vendor here doesn't have a cure for! It's your preference when it comes to the year, either way you can do your research here and make an informed decision. Most importantly, have fun.

Welcome, Aron. There are differences in the brakes and gears on the 04's and 05's. The 04's have slightly smaller brakes and 4.10 gears. The smaller brakes make it easier to go to a smaller wheel for track use. The 05's have 4.56's, which are generally preferred over the 4.10's, and slightly larger brakes. Other than those two things, the trucks made in 04 and the trucks made in 05 are identical.

^^^^^+1...06 elect operating system a lil different and maybe a lil better...headlights, grille, front bumper, and interior different on the 06 vs 04/05..expect to pay a lil more for a 06 reg cab there were only around 800 made (i think)...personally i like the front end of the 06 better-but i like the darker interior of the 04/05....good luck looking...you may want to post the vin/info on a truck your looking at to see if a member knows who owned it previously....WELCOME!!!!

Thanks guys, exactly the input I was looking for. Ive owned a 2004 QCSB with hemi and a 2008 the same way.

There is a 2006 RC at a local dealer. Its got 55k miles on it and theyre askin $25k for it. (vin: 3D7HA16H66G185863)

Im more partial to the 04/05 just because Im not crazy about the front end on the 2006's but in the end I just want one of these beasts.

+1. I prefer the exterior of the 06's and the interior of the 04-05's.
