Hello,

I just picked up the OEM style cover (3 point wing) and all the brackets/bolts/etc.. with it. It's going to go on my '04. I was wondering if anyone had knew of any instructions or diagrams that had came with them? Want to get the exact spacing and it looks some kind of helicoil or something for an M6 bolt needs to be added. I recall seeing one post on here awhile ago where someone shared a link to something, but the link was dead.

Also anyone know how to tell the difference between the OEM Mopar ones and the OEM Factory ones ? I'm pretty sure it's the Mopar as there is a Mopar part number on it and only the top was painted, but just curious if there were any other differences?

Thanks!

Good luck and welcome!

I don't believe 04 came with or had a cover but There are a ton of threads when you search tonneau but finding one that works may take awhile lol

See #13 for some pics

I believe the factory ones for the 10's were aluminum

It is just a standard 1500 truck bin, so any of the covers/lids, hardware will work. Then put ya wing on top. If you are going to go REAL FAST I suggest a 3 mount point wing as they don't flex as much.
My truck was built 03 and has a lid someone at some stage has added. Bloody heavy fibreglass. I reckon that weight is the only thing stopping me from breaking the sound barrier.

Thanks for the link, that will help. Yeah, looks like I just need to add some threaded inserts since the 04 didn't have them. Here's from the 05 it came off of

You are correct.
It seems very heavy for aluminum, def takes atleast 2 people to move around, but maybe they were just heavy anyways.

Here's the part number/etc. I found on the bottom. At first I was thinking that was just how they came (unpainted), but maybe somehow it came from a black truck originally and the top was just painted blue.

That could be - none of the 10s came in blue except the 50 VCA Edition and those were an electric blue.

Is that one Aluminum or did Dodge make fiber glass ones for the Rams also ?
I read somewhere at some point, the ones that came installed from the factory were all aluminum.

If you ordered it from the Dealer as a part after, the top was aluminum but the bottom part was fiberglass as it was easier to manufacture or something, don't recall the details or process. They also came unpainted and you had to have them painted.

A couple of things.
1. The oem srt-10 specific 3 post wing ONLY works with the srt-10 specific ALUMINUM tonneau cover. Very easy to tell by underside of cover.
2. Srt-10 bed cover has a hump in the middle to account for the shorter post on oem spoiler.
3. All trucks have to be drilled for cover unless it was installed at factory.
4. You're probably missing 2 brackets (white in pics) at front of bed, nobody remembers to take them off because they are a pain in the ass. You can replace these with flat pieces of steel.
5. If you message me with your email I can send you the directions for the oem tonneau cover
