Hello folks. I removed the Volant air intake( which will be for sale at some point) and re-attached the Factory air box and flex pipe. However, I am missing the longer of the two hoses (crank case venting). So the question is two parts. Do I find\ reconnect the original setup to the best of what's available? Or do I look into some of these "Oil catch cans"? Is it really worth the $135 bucks from JBM?

Maybe this will help make amdhoice .. Im partial to catch cans but dont have the one I have installed.. many are,or were using them in the past on the 10's..

Do they affect passing smog if your in one of those konmie areas?

Not usually unless they require underhood visual inspection. That's one thing that cracks me up about where I live. You plug in, no codes? Good to go. They don't give a shit about anything else so long as they perceive that the emissions controls are working lol.

Claims say they improve gas mileage , emissions and power . Help with carbon build up and improve the life of a engine ..

I would think being basically a filter added to the PCV system that it would not cause failing a emissions inspection due to the PVC still being intact . But then again Commiefornia and other puke states may not see it that way lol ..I would even bet a inspector wouldnt even know what one is !

When imwas a saftey inspector Va. decided to start the emmisions testing and I had to get licensed for that . Back then t was no big deal unless a woman came in with shirt buttuned down or short skirts pulled up ,, believe me it happened .. well being a young stud lol .. That was a reason for rejection ! Why , Somthey would come back again lol .. there was always something on a vehicle that needed to be taken care of ,, simple stuff like a bulb , wiper blades etc. on the safety inspection .. Emmisions inspection were a bit more involved .. But the truth is inspections were very rarely monitored by the State ( state police were in charge ) ..
I was repremanded 1 time by a sneaky undercover state copper for doing the best inspection he has seen .. he was also wrong about what he claimed I didnt inspect .. I ended up getting a verbal reprimand from the head honcho trooper that came to the shop . Verbal reprimands were the second stage of punishment , the first was suppose to be a written letter of reprimand .. total BS . The 3 stage of reprimand was possibly fines , drivers licsense suspended and even jail .. Well that was the tip of the iceberg and I decided Im not doing inspections anymore . I was a mechanic and hated being interupted to do damn inspections. My boss approved and had others do the inspections .. no freaking way was I going to risk those reprimands ... i was by the book as best as it could have been .. well excpet checking out boobies and legs lol but hey that wasnt in the book rules lol
