Ok i NEED to StOp!!!

well guys i think i have a promblem. For the last 2 days i've street raced every night. on thursday i raced my arch enemy from high school after we got out the club. After all my 14 sec runs it felt good to finally beat the crap out of my first lighting. I still had my tires aired down to 20 psi from the lacr day. we only did what i think is 1/8 mile (only grabbed 1st and 2nd). Needless to say i got a great launch on him and had about 3 lengths on him... on friday after i brought my truck in the shop to check the oil and air the rears up. while driving in a cust awaiting his m3 to a long hard look at me while driving in. We ended leaving the shop at same time and met up at the light. I really wasnt plannin on goin, but upon the light changin i heard the exhaust and kind of like race horse instinct i just punched it and again only grabbed first and second on him but that was enough to put me past him to make my point. last night however is when i realized i have to stop. On my way home back from a party i was crusin along on the freeway @70mph when i passed an import (not sure what) he took it the wrong way and decided to pull up and attempt to pass me. Surely enough before i knew it i hit 140 on the lonely freeway to prove who knows what. I've been doing some stupid shit lately, i'm just lucky i havent lost control or had the opponent involved lose control. I know i'm not the only one to have had been in these kind of situations but i fiqure if any body could understand what i've been doin it be you guys.

You should stop then - it is FUN, but we have been seeing lots of smashed up srt-10's out there (mostly other than red thankfully) - and one was even a forum member if I recall correctly He lived to tell about it, but the passenger did not ...

Anyways, we have the power and sometimes not as much sense as it requires!! - SOOOOOOOOOOO Easy to get on it and SOOOOOOOOO hard to resist :burnout: :burnout:

we need a support group much like AA.

but for street racing

also can you believe a first offense for street racing is a felony but a first offense dwi is a misdemeanor?

Yes its tempting but you just gotta have control. Going through first and second is one thing but up to 140 !!! That could put you in jail real fast!!!

Also you said you came out of a club.....please dont tell us you had some booze in you too!!! Now that is scary......and a quick way to have the snake bite back at you.

In all seriousness...I don't know how we survive our youth....Ferrari you are a cool cat but 140 man....that is over the top.....punch 'em if you want ...grab second....and then let it go man.......at 140 these trucks are out of control PERIOD....doesn't matter how good you are or how good we think the trucks are....5000lbs at 140 becomes a numbers game....somone is going to get un-lucky and I hope it isn't one of us....

Yeah yeah...I know....shut up......but there are families out there and even if you are careful the dipstick you are racing gets all pumped up and kills people 20 minutes later...

Lastly Ferrari...I have seen you drive....no way you beat anybody.....

You are right man, I remember telling you I did 140 once, truck didn't feel stable at all. I guarantee I'll never do that again.

Yeah, the idea behind that stems from more and more deaths caused by racing on America's streets than deaths from DWI accidents. There was a time when DWIs were abundant, common and out of control. NOW with a new generation of younger and immature drivers with money, the in thing is simply going faster than the next racer. Now it is the NEW abundant, common and out of control act, but it isn't anything new. Racing has been around since the 50's, but these days with so many mods available with lighter, cheaper cars(especially for ricers) lacking the power to reach 160+ speeds is a thing of the past..

Ferrari, yeah dude you should stop it really is a game of russian roulette. There's no need to go up to those speeds to prove a point. My street racing days stopped 3 years ago after getting a wreckless driving ticket for 135 and having 2 friends get killed racing and at least 4 customers all separate incidents. On every occassion they not only killed themselves but also innocent people who were not racing, just going about their business. So, that's why I started going to the track.....besides its more challenging on the track, any dumbass in almost any car can go 120MPH on the freeway but can you do it from a dead stop in 11 seconds or less

You're not alone FT. There were times in the other forum when I was excited after a major kill where I talked about hitting 145+ on the speedo. I thought it was awesome, but I was definately playing numbers. For real although I was up that fast the truck felt like one tincy little mistake would have had me going wildly out of control. At that speed you definately don't want the slightest mishandling to occur. I was stupid to go that fast especially since I had the opponent beat back at about 80 mph. So I really can't explain what was in me. Probably Venom, but that isn't a good excuse. Like you, I.. waitepsi: ...recently had a sort of eye-opening experience as well.
