Hello everyone!

I’m new here !
I’m hoping I can find some help from someone who has more experience on those trucks. Specifically the mechanical side as I’m not a mechanic my self.
I am currently negotiating a price on a 2004 srt10 vin number
3D7HA16H04G154900
which is for sale in Poland (that’s where I’m from) The truck was shipped from USA with a mechanical damage. I have found the original auction (photos) and from what I can see the transmission was off the truck completely.. The new owner in Poland is a second owner since the truck was shipped from USA.
The truck is now fixed and driving. I thought some of you that are familiar with those trucks could tell me what should I be aware of before buying. Could the truck be fixed with a different transmission from a standard ram 1500 truck?? I’m sorry I’m not good with mechanics. Also what you guys can tell about this truck just looking at the photos from the auction? I will attach pictures. I have photos sent by current owner (those are the last 3 )
and pictures from the auction. I would love to buy this truck but I’m afraid it will cost me more if the transmission wasn’t fixed properly and it will brake down on me…
I’d appreciate any help.
Thank you in advance.
Kind Regards
Tom

No, the transmissions are not the same.
Advice: If you are buying anything like this, budget for more money than the purchase price, say 25% And, if possible take someone with some mechanical knowledge with you prior to purchase. The truck itself LOOKS okay...

That is an extremely pricey truck. $29,300 is way over priced.
Let’s say you got it for what it sold for in 2020 for $10,200, then you would have a good deal. But now at $29,300 that’s is a “Lotta of Zloty” (that was a joke).

I’ll let one of the experts step in here, but it seems like someone tried to convert the manual transmission? All two door trucks had manual transmission, except for two. I’m not an expert by any means, but in the bed of the truck it looks like an automatic, and if it is, that would scare me.
EDIT: using this link I can zoom in and see it’s not an automatic in the bed: https://en.bidhistory.org/dodge/ram...-dodge-ram_srt10-ram_srt10-3d7ha16h04g154900/

Another thing that is a little scary is the front, drivers side, wheel well doesn’t seem correct to me. The rear is outside of the cladding, and the top (2 o’clock position) looks damaged. I can also see the screw heads on the inside of the wheel well. Having just repairing mine because someone lowered it, I can tell you that not all holes have screws in them. The wheel wells never had that available. (Again, an expert needs to verify my novice understanding.

How many miles on it ?
Which owner did or had the transmission done and by who ?
Have you inspected the truck personally or have a trust mechanic/ shop check/inspect the truck for possible problems ?
Were any mods done to the truck ?
The manual transmissions do from the factory have a weak hydraulic system and should be upgrade per many posts and threads on here in the past !
Changing to another transmission can be done but it’s going to cost a lot .. Changing to automatic transmission from the srt 10 rams has been done and again it’s going to cost a lot.
Ask the owner about the transmission and see what he says , why was it removed in the first place and if reinstalled what was replace , clutch , pressure plate , throw out and pilot bearings , slave cylinder , clutch master cylinder , other than stock shifter ,what fluid was it refilled with , etc. ? The truck looks pretty decent all around looking at the pictures..

The steering column had some damage in the original pics and I don't recognize that handle on the inside of the tailgate? The listing says automatic transmission and also mentioned rear and damage. I'm sure those issues are resolved - just things I noticed.

Thank you for checking on this !
Regarding the price I guess it seems like a lot for US but for EU I couldn’t find any for better price. Yes I could get one in USA but taxes and shipping costs would probably be extra $10-15k and cheapest I have found on US eBay is $30k
So there is that

It’s currently on 50k miles
The first owner who bought and shipped the truck to Poland did the repairs.
Current owner messaged me that the transmission is original termed t56 and the previous owner said to him that he only needed to replace the cluch.
He didn’t ask more questions about it. For him the truck was working and looking good so he didn’t ask more questions. At least what he says to me it’s true or he just says it to sell it
I did not inspect the truck personally as he lives 5hours drive from me. Also I’m not a mechanic so if I did go see it ,hear it, I’d probably buy it.. One reason not to go without a specialist I guess. I do have a friend mechanic but again it’s far away and I wouldn’t want to waste his time before researching as as much as I can here on vtcoa

Appreciate your help!

It’s odd to me that the ignition cover has been taken (broken?) off ? Could it be a stolen truck and someone started to take it apart that’s why the transmission is off ? Why was it in salvage yard in the first place?

I have received more photos from the current owner.
Thanks everyone!

Did you notice all the trucks on that sight are SC TRUCKS !

I did! And almost every one still has a perfect wing hahahaha!! One truck has barely over 10k on it. People really need driving school!

The description on all the listings shows how the damage occurred, obviously most are wrecked this one just said mechanical and mentions rear and damage so it may have been stolen. But why an insurance company would consider it totaled and then end up in a salvage yard is a mystery to me

What got me is the truck sold for $10,200. That was really cheap in 2020. It sat on the lot for over a year by looking at the date on the rear window. The truck, besides the transmission in the back, looks pretty good. I’m surprised it still had good paint.

There are some oxidized areas on the roof and on top of fenders and some on top of tailgate but in pics it's really hard to see if it's reflection or oxidation. All in all it looks in good shape if the engine is worthy.

I agree with the others on a professional inspection - i would need to know if the frame and all the hidden parts are right. No welds etc. And the condition of the engine itself - that's a big expense if it's shot

Check out the frame weld .. appears factory .. on the Frankenstein truck thread the same weld which means it maybe ok on Frankenstein ..

Good question! Maybe due to the car was being stripped for parts it if stolen or damage cost to much for the owner at the time couldn’t afford the repair costs and took the insurance dollars .
2020 almost 5 years ago the prices went up as we’ve seen in the last few years . It appears to have sat for a period of time before the new energy put things back together. That would boost the value depending on what was done to get it back up and running . Personally I would make a lower offer and see if it takes .. I also would not buy any vehicle without seeing it and having it or inspecting myself ..

That’s a understatement lol

I was noticing that , looks to me to just be unwashed dirty
