Hey viper community I recently bought a used viper truck which I love driving. But was wondering if any one here can point me in the right direction . I was driving it on day and all of a sudden like if a a power switch turned of. I felt the engine Like it became sluggish and I was no longer able to do burnouts on it only when is on reverse I tried to pull up the codes with y he key and with a scanner but no codes show . Has anyone had this problem before I would appreciate any suggestions I recently replaced the iac valve but is still sluggish thank you . I have a 2005 qc auto

As I recall wasn't there a sometimes issue with the ignition (coils, wires) system on these engines since everything is under the intake manifold?

How many miles on your truck? When was the last time you serviced your transmission? Could also be your calipers sticking.
Thank you for replying dude I lies chase the truck with 115 and yes I did service the trans 3k later one day after I tried putting it on drive and it would t go I checked the Tran oil and it had a burned smell and it was dark I only did a filter change and replaced the oil in the pan not a full flush. Also it did had a code for a knock sensor which I replaced the wiring that was toasted but that’s pretty much it and everything since the truck has been sluggish like when I got it I would break a turn on alight and it will burnout and dammm I miss that not it just bounces but no burnout is like is asleep

I also have an abs brake light that’s comes and goes away will that put the truck on limb mode ?
Not that this is your same issue but this thread has some good info on "limp mode" look through it and notice what rottenronnie posted - maybe you will find some answers

Brake calipers locking can definitely make it feel like a huge power loss ,,,, these trucks have had that problem a lot … are the brakes/ wheels getting hot , smoking ? Possibly ABS code is the warning .
Burnt trans fluid ? Was there debris in the pan and filter when you changed the fluid ?
Any misfire, how’s the idle and normal acceleration ?
What codes did you have ?
Could be a bunch of things !

Specifically the 05-06 fixed calipers. I have never heard of the 04 only sliders (which are just painted 2500 front calipers) sticking like that. I had a moment where I was considering ditching the 4 pots for the sliders.

I’ve had mine lock up ,, 1 side then sit for a hour and it locks up , start driving and the the other side locks … Wait till it cools of and it’s good for a while . One time they were smoking bad at night and the damn rotors were glowing red hot … Dodge should have a recall on that shit ..
Driving with the from brakes locking definitely kills acceleration!

I pulled into a carwash with a smoking caliper and quenched it just so I could get home.

Yo thanks for replying evryone .. there was debri on the magnet like fudge metal … but no chunks of metal only like really really tiny fudge ,, acceleration is good no codes on the computer and no smoke from the calipers or rotors just the light sometimes goes on and off while driving but I did notice that when the light is off is has more alil bit of better response idk is driving me crazy just replaced the front wheel bearing that have the abs module but still does the same now when I turn fast to merge into a street or blv it bounces and I remeber when I got the truck just with alil bit of gas it will burnout and one time I almost hit the curb cuz of the torque but not anymore I’m sad is like I have a powerful car but is lazy . What you guys think i appreciate wvryone here responding to my post

I’m gonna check that I thought the same is speed sensor is in the hub right? Like is the whole assembly ? Please Excuse my ignorance .
There is an online manual I'll find it you can look there since I don't know

thank you !

I just ordered all 4 speed sensors once I changed them I will give you guys the update . They should be here tomorrow for a weekend project .
Definitely let us know …

Debris on the magnet appears possibly to be clutch wear and if metal was there more wear than can be seen … more would have been in the old fluid … the slippage in the trans would become worse after the trans oil was changed and possibly enough to have made it become noticeable… worn out clutches would require a trans rebuild .. hoping that’s not the case ….
