I need a set of rear brake calipers for my 2005 QC truck.
I found these on eBay which is an outstanding price for both Left & Right pair, but something just doesn’t seem right.
They look identical to my rear calipers, but look at the ink stamp on them. It says 370AA & 371AA
I ended up making an offer of $250 for the pair and it got accepted.

In the factory parts manual it shows
2004 thru 2006 rear calipers -
R 05139914AA
L 05139915AA

What do you guys think? Real or not real?

The only part numbers I could find for these are 68052370AA brake pad & 68052371AA caliper adapter for Grand Cherokee/Durango, so I dunno what's going on there but those are absolutely correct for an SRT-10 Ram and a steal if they are actually new.

Possibly that is the sellers inventory number? You know to keep track of his items

No if you should so accept the challenge ;) find me a set of the big 2005 front calipers for a similar price new ,,,, insert mission impossible theme song . This post will self destruct in 5 seconds !

I truly think what happened is Dodge couldn’t sell those calipers because they weren’t in the original box, and someone labeled them wrong on the shelf.

I think Dodge then sold all their obsolete parts to a 3rd party vendor so they make room for newer stuff. Luckily for me, with eBay you can return stuff (at sellers cost) if items are not what they say they are. For the price they are selling them for, I can’t beat it. They are cheaper than most normal vehicle calipers.

Can’t wait to see them. Oh, btw, the front caliper that I bought for $75 was perfect. I will still replace the pistons and seals, just to have a ready spare.

Great score! On the caluper, too

Did you get the calipers? Are they good? Looks like the real deal to me. For the price I would think that these would be to have as a back up.

Yep, both sets (left and right) came in and they were perfect.
Now I just need to wait until it gets warm again and to get rid of all this snow so I can put them on. Colorado weather sucks for that. ~ha

Front and rear are different. So are the left and right sides. Know that for a fact because just did that. You can't get it wrong. Took them off and ran them thru a hot tank to clean up and replaced the pistons and seals. Could have gotten by with the old pistons but did it anyway as long as I had them apart. Parts are readily available and not all that expensive. Re-painted them with the correct red color in a hi-temp rattle can paint. Replaced the rotors too with slotted and vented pieces. All looks like new now. Very nice appearing thru the stock wheels.

Nice … Those are for a 2005 QC ? Not the same fronts as my 05 !
Those are interchangeable I’m guessing per @HemiLonestar ?

No. Mine is the 2004 standard cab. I'm not sure as to what the diff would be for a QC opposed to a standard. I also replaced all of the front end components. Upper and lower control arms, tie rod ends, wheel bearings, new Bilstein OEM shocks.... everything and anything that had to do with the front suspension I replaced. I have 62k miles and many things were OK but I figured I would do it all and be done with it. While at it, serviced the rear end. Replaced the U-Joints and rear seal in the trans when I had the drive line out.

I think I am now good to go for another couple of thousand without having any problems!!!

Same thing here. I figure both trucks had 20 years since new, so why not replace everything on the front end. It actually began because the last truck I bought was lowered. I don’t like lowered trucks.
That led to, “if I have all the tools out anyways, why not just do both trucks.”
Which led to, if I need to flip the rear leaf spring due to lowering, why not just replace the stuff back there.
Which led to, “if I have all the tools out anyways, why not just do the other truck”.

Yah but you're crazy!! Hahahaha!!

Not really, you did excellent threads that took us all through the journey! We learned a lot - and then some!

Nice work! Clean and tidy

It only gets more detailed as things and time go on. The the attitude of "Oh what he Hell' kicks in and the way you go. Only a credit limit and a wife to slow you down!!

The credit card is not so much of an issue today but at times the "War Department" of 62 years doesn't know how to take a joke...Oh Well..as they said in the old days, if you didn't want to take the ride you should have never signed up...
