well went out today .... when i started her up .. it goes into reverse no issues at all. when the temp warmed up and 30 min of driving it got a lil bit harder but really not an issue.. and when i reaally started driving a few 0-60 runs ets gettin on it hard .. thats when reverse becomes a whroe .. so basicaly when it gets really really hot under the hood reverse becomes impossible

I'm guessing it's your clutch. Fluid is heating up and your loosing pressure!! Mine did exactly the same thing until I upgraded.:) ;)

Yup, sounds like a hydraulic (heat-up) issue.

Whens the last time you changed your fluid out? Get some 600+ boiling point fluid when you change it, and don't mix / contaminate the two.

Hey SD! - not to hijack this thread or go off topic, I was noticing your mods list..................... :)

There is a problem with it. You have the best mod listed last  :p ;) :D

Tell Lynette hi ....

and kiss your willow! :star:

Please take into consideration that (as a showman) I have been trained to follow this simple rule:

.........Always save the very best for last.

Thanks alot..... I will certainly pass along your greetings and poochie smoochie.;)

............and the same back at ya......God bless.

Same problem I had before I did the Viper GTS clutch hydraulics package and Dan Cragin's re-routing and sheilding of the clutchlines. It seems to be an issue of insufficient line pressure and heat affecting the hydraulic fluid.

I went through hell with this whole clutch hydraulics thing for nearly 2 years. Kept burning up clutch discs, flywheels etc..... Dodge even put in a new tranny thinking that might be it....

As soon as I did the aforementioned work ALL of my clutch problems vanished.............Plastic slave cylinders are just a stupid idea.

My problems all started with not being able to get it in reverse. Then soon after became, "I can't get it into gear at all".

By the way, next time you are stuck in the street and can't get it into reverse, try shutting off the engine, then pumping the shit out'a the clutch pedal. It should eventually go into reverse with the engine off. Then fire it up and go.

Hope this helps.

That's is some good info to hear SD - Thanks. At this point, I'm convinced it is the reason powershifting third is damn near impossible in my truck.

Otherwise, the clutch and shifting are just fine and I have a problem replacing all those compenents just so I can powershift.:dontknow: I'm kinda hoping I waste the clutch soon so I can justify the upgrade.

When it is being a whroe;) , will it go into reverse with the engine off?

Ill try that next ... ill let you kown ..

I first noticed problems with mine when I was 1000 miles away from home with a car/trailer in tow. When cold it was difficult to get reverse but possible. Once warm it was impossible. I'd have to shut it off before backing. After a clutch swap and a good bench bleeding of the stock master/slave, I'm back in business.

i had the same problem with mine then 1,2,3,4 syncronizers started going bad then eventually the dealership had to put a new tran in mine a month after same problem over again
