Does anyone know where I can find a new shifter isolator? The rubber piece that goes in between the shifter handle and the shifter itself. Mine is completely disintegrated and the handle just slops side to side. I’ve called Hurst and they’re useless told me they don’t have any info or sell parts for their products that were sold to OEM for use in production vehicles so they don’t even have a diagram to try and cross reference a part from another shifter. Thanks

Maybe somewhere in this thread will give you some info - the link to the online parts and shop manuals is in this thread also

Check with JTSVP.com and call them , Tony is the man and may just have what you need !

Yea I actually looked through that post and on some of the sites including JTSVP. Unfortunately only thing I could find was a site sort of like x2 builders that listed the isolator but was out of stock. I ended up buying a replacement shifter that eliminated the isolator entirely for about $180. We’ll see how it goes but hopefully it eliminates the slop. It’s so bad you can be in gear and still “check for neutral”.

Tony AKA: Stinker . when he was on here and as a vendor he also owned and built the first twin turbo ( the Brutal 10 he called his truck .. , JTSVP usually can get anything you need ,, and has upgrade shifters that get rid of the factory slop shifting , factory third gear I believe has been a big problem over the years so he made one .. give him a call ,, the number is on the website , he’s a really decent person .

Yikes that is bad! Hope the new Shifter takes care of it for you

Didn’t you change yours years ago .. are they still around ?
Mine has Boomers X-Metal GEN-X Shifter. It absolutely fixed the third gear problem. Don't think they are available any more unless someone was selling one from back in the day

I thought you had Xmetals ..

My shifter will be here tomorrow. I’ll install it and report how it is. I’m keeping the factory one and will hope to find the isolator.

That's a good idea!! They claim for what it's worth that keeping the used stock parts make for added value in the eyes of a collector

Is that airbox?

Remember when the big ape did the test and the hood scoop is a low pressure area and is for releasing or more of a venting of engine heat …

The stock air box and intake have baffles in the grill to direct cold air into it .. but is not completely sealed and true ram air ..
