I tried something new that has so far worked for about a week. I had previously tried the CRC brake squeel eliminator stuff on the back of the pads but within miles they were squeeking again. The noise was driving me crazy. So what I did was get my Belt sander out.

I refaced the pads and put an angle on the leading and trailing edges sort of like this:

So far not a peep out of them. Just thought I'd pass this info on in case anyone else wanted to try it. Use at your own risk etc. etc.

I've found that a wire wheel brush on a bench grinder to be an effective method. No need to remove a lot of material, just need to roughen up the surface.

Steve,

Did you get the EBC pads?

I just turned the front rotors and added the EBC green pads. I could not beleive that they still squeeked. I must say not as bad but still noticible. The backs will get done with EBC also next week.

Anyone have the same situation? Do they take time to seat? Solutions?

I must say they have a lot less dust. I would say about 60%-70% less. Maybe more.

What is everyone else seeing or doing?

Yes - my new EBCs (wife's Yukon - in all four calipers) still squeeked for about 100 miles, but have quieted down since then.
Only once in a blue moon do I hear them squeek any more, and then it is only for a fraction of a second.

ShuDog, I tried EBCs (on my rear wheels) and they still dusted over.

I have Performance Frictions on front and back now and have NO dust and NO squeel. Truck gets dirty before the wheels do now.
