What's everyone using for slicks on the rear...Looking for some need input

Just curious what people are using for slicks. Rear wheels and tires...all input suggested is appreciated .

Whoa an LA guy:rock: You gotta come out and race with us dude:burnout: To get slicks on, you gotta shave your calipers to fit a 16" wheel. From there my recommendation is the CCW 16"x11" wheel

There are going to be many answers for you question....but...

For 500 or less rwhp....look into the M&H drag radials in the 390/17" size we have a N/A member here who with 480ish rwhp pulled a nice 60' and ran in the 12's...

For 500 - 600 rwhp look at the M&H cheater slick

For 600+ the M&H true slick (nostalgia) 12x31.5.....

the 2 above slicks are only for a 16" wheel so you will have to seriously grind down your rear calipers to get them on....the 17" drag radial needs very little modification...

i'm more interested in knowing what wheel people are using. i'm not interested in shaving my calipers but if anyone knows of someone using an
18" slick or a 20" slick. Would love to go race...Let me know when..I went to Fontana yesterday. but too damn hot to run any good times. and I just spun out of the hole

Sorry man there are no good 18" options and nodody makes a 20"....we had 7 SRTs at Fontana on Saturday sorry we missed you....go with the 17" drag radial from M&H call them up and they will recommend a wheel..

I just picked up a set of 18" Nitto 555s from Patrick. Seems like that is probably the largest wheel size drag radial you can go. I believe he said they were good into the low 12s. That is the smallest size rim that apparently requires no shaving of the calipers.

Just a thought, but I do not see a clutch upgrade in your list. Better grip will transfer more pressure on the clutch on a hard launch.... Just be prepared for a replacement.
