A hole in the blockExcuse the newbness, but what am i looking at ?
Dunno, will have to find a workshop and pull it out and see WTF happened and figure out what to do nextOMG!! WTF is right!
So WTF happened???
I’m not liking that post , that sucks ! What area on the block is it located ? Did that happen under easy or hard driving ?
Looks similar to a bullet hole .. some didn’t take a pot shot at you KiwiThere's not supposed to be an access hole there.....
I’m waiting to see what location on the engine … I tried to find by looking at pics d the block and can’t find it … I’m wondering if it may be around the timing cover ..Ohh nooooo! Why does the expensive stuff have to happen?
...Although I have seen amazing recoveries on aluminum block welds by the pros. Might be able to be saved if it's in a less important area!
Let’s wait for @Kiwi SRT10 before the block is toast .. hoping for the best ..OUCH, now i see the POV, Likely a rod let loose and started eating at the block. RIP, old block, well all look forward to seeing the new one go in.
Allready taking into consideration.. along with a required rebuildable core .. all outrageous pricing I’m sure .. sent an email to them to find out to specifics on those items ..plus shipping to NZ could be outrageous!!
Still though, for me it would be easily over 10k where i'm from. But then again 10k is actually not bad for a completely rebuilt full long block. That way it could sit for a season and you could then accumulate a number of internal parts that will turn it into a beast.Just incase you stat shopping … this shit ain’t cheap damn ..
