Here's the story...
I have 2 separate engines for my truck, one was sitting on the floor of my garage during the flood and is a total loss, the other is in my truck. It got water over the bottom of the valve covers. This was my better engine from EED. It could have been fine but I am a lazy ass and never changed the dipstick tube that had cracked two years ago, this let water fill the oil pan. I dumped the oil twice now and refilled, each time the oil has come out looking like milk. The th6060 filled with water, and I sent to back to transzilla for a rebuild. It had water in it from the vent tubes going under. The rear end was the same, but was easily cleaned by dropping the diff cover and cleaning it out with some solvent. The interior has been gutted, and the smell of harvy is gone.
My question now is wtf do I do about the engine... rebuild is out of the question till the house is put back together.
EED has not returned my phone calls, but Justin at JMB seemed to agree with me that if I keep running it and changing the oil I have a chance to be just fine. The main issue is no trans right now so I can't drive it and get it hot. I have read on 4x4 forums of v8 going under multiple times and surviving.
any ideas?
