There has been some concern over the use of a 170 thermostat. This thermosatat will not effect fuel trims. For the fuel trims to adapt the vehicle must operate in "Closed Loop". Closed Loop is when the computer adjusts the fuel mixture up and down to achieve the best power and emissions. Long term fuel adaptives will update above 150 degrees engine temp and 0 degrees outside temp. The closed loop timer does become longer at lower temps, but this only delays when closed loop will begin.

If you have a 170 degree thermostat your short term and long term fuel trims will adapt.
