well Im not one to "buck" the system so I will conform to what Tremec "recommends"

Not that its a bad thing one way or the other. I know from experience this will cause great heartache in trying to get a claim proccessed. They will find any and every oppurtunity to reject anything out of the norm.

sorry bro, I should have included that it wasnt aimed at your post, I jsut have seen that more times than once:D

But I think it also depends on dealers, mine I talked with said he really didnt care as long as any fluid I used was of high quality:dontknow: course my dealer is a tad different, he luuuuuuuvvvvvs HP:D

I have to ask , what is your take on the redline D4?

I have used it for a good while in my camaro, vette, and now the truck?

and always had excellent luck, and it always came out clean in a change?

Overall its a good oil, i haven't personally used it a whole lot. However i have 2 good friends, one runs a pro mod viper, one running a top alcohol dragster, and both use it in everything including their race cars. It is a synthetic fluid, which means it will take more abuse than any petroleum oil and higher heat. I would suggest if you have had good luck stick with it. Another thing i like about using an atf rather than a gear oil, is atf is very high in detergents, which means it is more prone to taking debris from wear and pulling it out of the trans when you drain it rather than it settling to the bottom. (i dont know if syntorq, does or not even i think it has some just not as much)

I am totally confused by this thread....the cap on my trans filler says to use brake fluid....WTF..:dontknow:
1) You must be halucinating
2) You are shit faced drunk
3) You are not looking at the right fill hole ???
4) You do have a manual transmission, correct
5) If not sure, count the pedals in your cab. Do you have 2 or 3 not counting the emergency brake pedal :D

I havent received my owner's manual yet....I assume the trans filler is located to the right of the brake booster?....the cap says use X dot brake fluid only?

Nope thats the clutch fluid resevior, and the brake resevior, you tranny fluid on a RC is under the truck on the drivers side of the tranny, and the only way to get to it is to get under the truck
