Blue Fin Tuna Fishing

Me and some friends did some fishing off Morehead City NC this past weekend. Here are some pics of the fish we killed. Fish was 98" long, cored out at 395lbs, and estimated full weight of 550lbs+.

It was sold. We were on a charter so the boat sold the fish, we got the meat from the tail and the tail of a similar fish. So for us the charter was free. I think the boat got around $20 per pound, prob sells in Japan today for $40+ per pound. I took home around 7 lbs of fillets for me.

And that is some of the best tasting tail I've had in a long time! A little soy and wasabi... ummmmmm
