pretty happy with this little project, total time was about 2 1/2 to 3 hours.



2 layers of carbon fiber fabric


this one is just epoxy/resin after sanding down to 300grit...pretty smooth already


about 5 layers of clear coat

next project after I order some more carbon fiber fabric...eventually I'll do the door handles
 
I love it since it's real CF and not fake hydrodip crap. Id love one but i been enjoying my pistol grip from Jegs.

Material list....

can you list what materials you used and where you picked up the carbon fiber?

-West system 105 epoxy/resin
-West system 207 hardener
-U-pol Clear #1 Clear Coat
-various sandpaper 80,120,180,220?,300,400,500,600,800,1000,1200,1500,2000
-isopropyl alcohol 91% for cleaning
-cheap foam brushes
-latex gloves
-carbon fiber from ebay (seller: outlawcarbon) Carbon Fiber Cloth/ Fabric 6.0 oz 3k 2x2 Twill 12"x 50"


working on the tailgate handle, a lot more work still left....2 layers of carbon sanded down to 300. waiting on more carbon fiber to arrive next week....
