So are the Catalytic converters welded in from the factory, or are they bolted in?

Your MOPAR headers should have come with "catless-mids". I have the same set up and will be adding cats this spring. I do not have a part # yet. You will need a bung welded in downstream of each cat, if you haven't had them tuned out (or sims). Oh, your factory cats are welded into the exhaust pipe.

Why cant I get the cats with the flanges on them and bolt them in-between the headers and midpipe? That would gove me a o2 sensor on both sides of the cats?

Maybe you can. I haven't looked to see how much room there is before you would have to make the turn over to the passenger side.
