Okay, so based on FST Jack's recommendation, I am going to change out my manual tranny fluid this weekend (okay...so I really wanted to find a reason to be able to crawl underneath my baby and play! :p ) I am hoping that this will help quite down some of the noise that I am getting from my tranny.

I did a search and found the following posts:

So here is my question, most of the above posts are from a year ago. SO now that a year has passed, for those of you that changed over from the factory tranny fluid to the Redline D4 ATF, what are your impressions now...almost a year later????

Have you switched back to the factroy recommended gear oil with the Mopar additive?

Have you tried the MOBILE 1 ATF? Do you prefer the Redline over the Mobile1???

Thanks for all the input and advice!

I have been using the Redline stuff for a while now. My truck shifts smoother but the noises are louder (normal gear noise).

I would not switch back to factory oils. I'll take a little bit of noise for better performance.;)

I switched too Mobil 1 ATF and my noise significantly decreased, especially after the second change out. I still have a little resonation in sixth gear only.

I will be changing fluid again soon and will post if the noise was reduced again!!

Note:
I would never go back to the gear oil, my truck shifts much smoother and quieter than with the gear oil!!

I was told by the Viper tech at my dealer that if i didnt use the mopar syn atf it would void my warranty...so i did mine and also added a bottle of their friction modifier. My trans shifts MUCH better now...but the atf was 23 bucks a qt!!!! :toilet:

Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF

I am using Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF, well....I was using it until my crank "blew" out on me. Then I find out my Clutch is shot with only 13,000 miles on it. I only have put 2,000 miles on my truck(got it used) and I am blaming it all on the Mobil 1!

Not....I really like it and the next time I change it, I may go with D4.

Use Mobil 1 ATF for the past year...Boomer just put in Royal Purple...and it is smoother and quieter...temps run about the same.
