first off my motor blew up 2 years and i replaced it this motor has been sitting since then, i just starting pulling it apart yesterday. everything off of it is for sale. the motor i purchased came from a guy that worked in the srt division and said it had twelve hours of idle time on it for emmissions testing.

-heads had 52000 miles on them when the motor blew $600

-valve covers $125

-intake includes injectors and rails $450 this is like new it came off the motor i bought because i wanted my black intake on my truck.

-throttle body $150

-the oil pan was mint until my cherry picker dropped the motor from about a foot and a half in the air im sure it can be fixed it just needs to be welded. make an offer

-alternator make an offer

i will add more when i get it torn down the rest of the way

the block is an 04 it broke a rod and kicked a hole in it, ive had a few friends look at and they all said it was definetly repairable. here are a few pics of it if will sell it as a whole if any one is interested in that.

The problem with most blocks that are "windowed" (hole in the side, through the sleeve and side of the block) is the main oil gallery that runs just above the crank. The side and sleeve can be repaired and will live.

If the oil gallery has been hit/taged they cannot be repaired with any chance of success.

The length of the engine makes it subject to extreme distortion, warpage, and movement internally.

The oil gallery can be welded and rebored but will crack almost instantly as the motor heats and cools. Many have tried to repair this problem with very limited to no success.

It is a real bad day when you spend all the time and money for machine work and parts to have the oiling system fail almost immediately, another spun bearing and a broken rod are the usuall results if you are running it hard when the repair fails, and it probably will fail.

Usually when the rod brakes it is in the middle, and the broken rod hits the oil gallery and the result is a scrap block.

Look above the crank area of the block and see if the oil gallery has been hit.

This sucks as the blocks are scarce and expensive.

This is the main reason so many blocks are junked.

It just is not like our old SB/BB motors where they can be repaired many times and will be good with the repair.

Hope your block has not taken the death hit to the oil gallery.

LOper, I cant do much more honestly but if the heads dont go, the best at the moment I can do is give ya $250 for them, Iknow its not much , and not trying to low ball ya and hope ya get the $650 most def, its jsut all I can do , too many fingers in the pudding at the moment:p

so if they dont sell , give me a shout buddy
