under the hood of my truck
For sale 1 set of 4.56's I picked up these gears from Fatjack.
I tried to install them in my diff but could never get them to pattern-out.
So I pulled them back out.
I'll let them go for what I paid for them $100 IIRC + shipping

I don't understand, those are the original gears from my truck and they were fine.:dontknow:

Me and another couldn't figure it out either. We even ordered a set of brand new 4.56's and ran into the same problem.
So we got ahold of DANA.
Turns out the carrier break is 4.11 and down/ 4.56 and up.
My carrier is a 04 4.11. I wouldn't feel comfortable running a ring gear spacer.

4.10 and 4.56 carrier are identical, same part number I have both.

well there is some difference between the 04(mine) and 05 (yours).
1st prob I had was the rear pinion bearing on the 05 4.56 set is much larger than what I had installed -even the new 4.56 set used the same smaller bearing like I had installed.
New 4.56 gearset ring gear was noticeably thinner than the set I got from you & even my original 4.11's.
The mechanic helping me had a chat with Dana tech support and He stated that my 4.11 diff took a different carrier than the 05 4.56 carrier.
Dont ask me, or my friend helping me were both confused as hell about this whole thing.
