As one of those in the "tall" category I found their solution a bit puzzling....for short and tall drivers make sure you keep at least 12" of distance between yourself and airbag. Show me one driver who is over 6'3" that sits less than 15" from the air bag and I'll show you a person who can't move as their knees are firmly planted into the dash. I can't get my seat back far enough as it is. My wife claims I drive 'ghetto' as I also have my seat leaned back as far as it can. I'm confused on their recommendation....?

My concern was not the solution, but the caution that was raised by the research. You tall folks are at risk and need to be aware...

I'm 5'8" and have a large upper body with short legs. I have to have the seat forward for my legs, but always tilt the seat back so that my arms are in a nice driving position. And not like NASCAR where they put their chests into the wheel. Never have understood that driving position.
