i went the easy way and used some zip ties on the mesh grill above the air dam

Just get a bracket and put it in the truck. Say you are waiting for parts from the dealer to finalize install. Keep front plate in truck too. Thats what I have done.
Been pulled over about 3 times in the 10 and never was front plate mentioned.
But an idea given to me a long time ago was heavy duty padded magnets on both sides. Dont know if it works but sounds like a good idea without drilling or adding ugly brackets.
