I've got a set of Bassani headers I am going to be installing soon and am looking to replace the supplied plated grade 5 bolts with something better. The supplied bolts are 1" in length, but when looking through ARP's catalogue, the longest 5/16 header bolts they offer are only 3/4" in length. Is everyone using a 3/4" bolt with their headers or do I need to find something longer? (I also see that Stage 8 bolts are 3/4'' length). I appreciate the help.

For reference, here is what I am looking at:
ARP 444-1102 ARP Header Bolt Kit

You can get what you need from McMaster-Carr their online service is fast and no minimum order. I bought the Stage 8 kit to get the locking parts from Summit and the bolts from McMaster-Carr. Cost is higher but you get what you need.

Yeah, I have ordered a lot of stuff from Mcmaster carr and was considering some stainless bolts from them. I just wanted to get an idea of how long of a bolt everyone has used in their applications. Can I go much longer than 1" or is this length my best bet?
