Took some customers out fishing this weekend. Left the dock at 4am and ran about 75 miles out. We had beautiful weather and the highest the seas got were 3ft. Ended up 2 for 2 on sails, one mahi, several bonita and barracuda, some mystery cutoffs (prob wahoo), a bunch of black sea bass, 3-4 short snapper, and one nice red snapper. Anyway here are a few pics. Two of the guys got their first ever billfish so they got to take a swim in the harbor for their right of passage.

Why does it look like the fish has already been gutted in that last pic??? :dontknow:

You can see where the hook was in the lower jaw. Where he looks split down the middle is not actually a cut but what are almost like little fins that stick back when he's lit up like in this picture.

Ah... Thanks for the anatomy lesson. :)

No sweat. Don't worry all of the sailfish were revived and released to fight another day. All swam off a bit irritated but healthy.

most billfish are like that dont they have a indention for the bottom fins to fold into when they swim real fast or something to that effect

I'm happy to do a gtg at my house in the future. Sadly my schedule for the rest of the year isn't going to allow it before winter. I'm spending two weeks out of town this month with work which means the rest of my time is going to be slammed. Also some big things going on with work that is going consume my life for a while. We'll come up with something during the spring... fishing has more action that time of year... like catching 20+ dolphin in a trip

I may even be able to work out renting an 1/8 mile track that's about 45 min away if there's interest. Haven't been there yet but looks like it hooks to me
