Will a blue top Optima battery work in our trucks? I know it's a "marine" battery, but what does that mean?

It will work,it just means that is has a deeper cycle.

unless it's free or really cheap just get a red or yellow top. deep cycle batteries are meant to be run to their lower charge limits and recharged, also used with winches, stereo systems, serious lighting, etc. you can use it. but it is serious overkill.

Deep cycle batterie is over kill but will work for your truck, I had to pull one out of my bass boat that I use for my trolling motor once in a pinch because my old truck wouldn't start an I was gonna be late for work:dontknow: :dontknow: I left it in there for about 4 yrs after and never had an issue, go for it
you just have to have a blue top to match! jeeez....wheres' your sensibility. oh,wait i bought a RED TOP. LOL:argh:
