The hail and tornados stopped for a while today, so I spent a little time outside.

I cut the grass too, so don't beat me up on the condition of the driveway. I refuse to blow the drive until the cars are out of the way :)

scratch that...I see the hairdryer now. That's a lot of cash to put in a 3 rotor probably a hell of a lot more than you have in the 10
 
Yeah, 20B... lots of help from Pettit, Microtech MTX-12. Right now It's N/A. I think he wants to blow it. About another 6 with Pettit to get it done probably.

Perhaps, I was unclear. The video is not ours, his car is in one of the pics... the video is just the direction we're going.

It's my brother's car. I forgot we had another rotary dude on the forums :)

Make that two others.... ;) (Wife's got a RX8...) How bad was the swap? ..... What does Pettit want for a 20B these days?

Swap was relatively painless. Easier than the SR20's I've helped on.

About 8k for the longblock, he sourced the crossmember from someone on nopistons. They also do built 13B for about 4k.

The microtech he found on rx7club.

His best friend works for R Speed, http://www.rspeed.net/ ... got the trans, driveshaft, diff, axles handled through him. I would be ignorant to try and tell you what they were.

He's got about 10-12 into it.

That's not the whole of the story though. The car was in a fender bender that produced about $10k in cosmetic damage. Not a month after getting it back, the stock 13B in it blew an apex seal. Mazda warrantied it. The first 13B replacement they got had a bent crank. After running the car with this one, it ruined the all the belts and the pulley on the AC compressor. The second one had an oil out within 3 miles of the initial test drive and died. The fourth one had a blown apex seal and wouldn't crank. After a japanese engineer couldn't repair the car, my brother took the initiative to source the 20B and went from there. Lots of covered costs to go that way was an epic win.

Yeah, Sarah's car is acting up too.... It's showing a SSV code intermittently (valve that costs about $3000 in parts and labor to replace) . :mad: :( I clear the code and it runs fine for a few weeks before the code comes back (showing SSV either stuck open or closed). ........ That will be the last time I "cave" and buy something for her because she thinks it's "cute". :eek: :banghead: Next time, when I trade this pos in, I'm buying her something I think will RUN..... and she will drive it, and like it :mad: (yeah, right :eek: ;) ).

I am surprised you were able to get the 20b in for 8k. I was always told the install was a bitch and that all kinds of crap including the steering had to be reworked to accommodate the 20b. I did misunderstand as you probably noticed, the car in the video is blown. I loved mine but when I was done modding I knew that I was looking at at least 15k at the time to go three rotors and it just wasnt worth it to me anymore. Pettit does good work from what I hear but Mazsport out of Largo Florida is the bomb. Check out his site. What EMS is he using? I had the Interceptor X from Mazsport

Microtech MTX-12... and like I said, he's got close to 12 in it with the crossmember and everything rerouted, trans, shafts, etc. So your 15k was pretty much right on.
