Plasti Dip

After seeing how great the plasti dipped wheels look I think I may do mine. What kind of prep is required before you spray them?

There is a special dipyourcar spray but any prep spray or even windex will work.

I literally wiped my rims off with an old shop rag. That was my prep.

I took it off the first time because when I got new tires the dip got all jacked up from the tools. That and I like to ride on shiny wheels in the summer.

I just used some basic rubbing alcohol to clean of my wheels, then masked them off with painters tape leaving about a 1/2" of tire showing all the way around. Them painted on a few good thick coats. Thats it. Did it to both my car and my truck. It may look really orange peelish, or really bumpy and unsmooth at first, but it dries really smooth.
