I am trying to get rid of my 07 1500 5.7L hemi with a procharger on it and lots of other stuff, i had it at a dealership that was interested in buying it but they told me after inspecting the procharger they said the bearings were gone.... im not a procharger expert so i didnt wanna argue with him about it, he said it sounded funny etc...its been propcharged for 3 years and about 20,000 km (99,000 km total on truck) its ALWAYS sounded the same so i have no idea what hes talking about if the bearings were gone wouldnt it not rotate at all or wouldnt the sound change be really noticeable? i just changed the oil in it and it looks fine to me, i have a buddy checking it out next week for me who knows a lot about them but just figured id post here as well

Take the belt off and see if there is any side to side, up or down or in and out movement. You should feel a little play if you rotate the pulley back and forth as there is some backlash built into the gears. ProCharger can have the quiet cut gears or the louder straight cut gears. The straight cut have a distinct whine to them and could be mistaken as a bearing noise if you are not familiar with.
