Allright, need to pick some brains. I have an annoying squeak coming from what I thought was an idler pulley bearing. Replaced the idler AND the tensioner pulleys thinking that would be that. Cranked it up....still there. This is after I dropped it off at the local idiots...I mean dealership, who installed a new belt on a truck with <30k on it. Belt quietened things up for about three days. It squeals like hell for about 10 minutes or so and then eventually quiets down.
Have I got a water pump going bad already?:dontknow:

Even could be the power steering pump. Had air in mine and made the same sound.

Quick

what year model is your beast????

It sounds like your power steering pump pulley is slightly off from the pump shaft. Take a look at the pulley and shaft, if the pulley is not sitting flush at the end of the shaft the belt will squeal LOUD.

GOOD LUCK!

Sound like power steering pulley. I had the same issue. First it was the belt then the tension pulley and finally the PS pulley. All squeaks are gone now.:rock:
