SR7+ with the Laser Shifter is the S*%t! Its pricey but well worth cost, front and rear laser shifter are life savers, I mounted the front shifters in the lower bumper behind the plastic mesh, invisible. I have pics of the install if anyone would like to see.
 
Beltronics RX 65 Pro here! And I love it. It also pics up photo! But I agree if you have the money the SR7 would be the way to go because it detects and jams!:D

Mobil one had it for 1800, so did car toys. I got it off ebay for 380 new installed it myself. Do you have the amplifyed speaker for it? and what can you get the blue v1 for?
 
I had problems with the Escort X-50 from Day 1. It was shipped to Escort FOUR times in the period of a year as it wouldn't detect laser radar. All kinds of creative reasons from the nice ladies that answer the phones at Escort. Everything from the colour of my truck to the fact that it was too high, etc.

It was gone more than it was in use so I went out and bought a Bel Vector 955 (same company as Escort, well the same building anyway). This detector is a real bargain. It works

Rocky Mountain detectors don't get rave reviews.

They have a new low powered photo radar (KA band) around here that is a challenge for ANY of the detectors (including the X-50 and Valentine). You are nearly on top of it before the detectors respond.

I have the blue 8500, got it for the same price as the red on sale at Best Buy a while back. I also have the Escort for the bike that Harley sells. Seems to work pretty good as well.
 
Just to confuse the situation a little more...read yesterday that there is a new Bell being released that incorporates GPS which uses memory to start to identify those stray signals at Walgreens and WalMart and after several false alerts learns their location and filters them out...

I have the Blue 8500 and love it...

One more complicating factor...European Car ran an article a couple of months ago where they advocated either the 8500 or the V1 as the best...but also pushed for front and rear laser transmitters to foil triggered laser guns...the article said that the transmitters are currently legal in all 50 states.

Now what guys?

Thats what the sr7 is for... Saved me many times...
