T-stat replacement question

I just put in my Dc flashed pcm but I havent put in the stat cuz of some minor confusion. I know u have to drain the coolant, take apart the housing, change the stat, and fill it back up - using the breather plug... but- I've read threads that say distilled water and some that say the hoat coolant.... which is it, because my fan is on high alot and its loud without the t-stat changed. I have to go on a 4 hr trip tomorrow and I need to know that it will be ok.

i would just use the 50/50 pre-mixed coolant..

the coolant is your choice, i went with what's in it....

just be sure to bleed all the air out with the bleeder screw on the t-stat housing after you fill the radiator.....

also, be careful of that drain plug on the radiator itself....
