Truck is gone

Todays Update

Kelly here, well, I am already fighting with the insurance. The estimate is 4032.29 for repairs, which is the whole axle replaced and the whole stereo replaced, BUT, get this, the adjuster didnt approve the ignition switch being replaced!!!!!!!!! He said it was operable and there appeared to be no damage to it???? How can that be? The cover of the steering column was ripped open and where you put the key in was scarred up all to hell and back!!!!! Insurance adjuster says they had a key to start it, I said NO THEY DIDNT. IT LOOKS LIKE HELL and has been compromised, and WILL be replaced. My head is going to explode before this is all over, I just know it. :argh: :banghead:

yeah they have tightened up. if they refuse to settle for a larger amount go file a small claim for the amount you feel they own you. them call them again, they may just settle for more then the first time. otherwise take photos to court and fight it. you dont need a lawyer if your smart about it.

Finally

Digging up an old post but we finally got the truck back yesterday. Big hold ups because the insurance would not replace the tires even though two different shops noted damage. A formal complaint to John Oxendine helped convince them to go ahead and pay for the necessary repairs. What a nightmare but Kelly reports that everything is fine now.

Note for people not from Georgia. John Oxendine is our state insurance and fire safety commissioner.

Glad to see things are looking up a bit

Red QC with bed cover was stolen from Phenix City, AL are while my wife was down there visiting friends. Especially sucks now that I have to go down and pick her up.

Wish me luck with the insurance since we've tried to explain to them since we bought it that it wasn't a Ram 1500 but an SRT10.

Maybe we'll be lucky and they won't find it. I had a '91 Mustang GT that was stolen and recovered and it was never the same after I got it back.

I will update on insurance struggles if any.

Glad everything turned out alright

State insurance commissioners can be of great assistance. Good move.

glad it worked out for you........ :)

i'm curious still, how they were able to drive it away w/o the sentry key? did you have it bypassed with a viper key mod ? the only other way to drive it off would be with immoblizer software through the obdII port, not something a crack head/ joyrider would likely have........... :dontknow:

I am thinking the same thing...Truck will not run without the Sentry key, unless you did a mod, like the Viper key...like i did with mine.

Don't know what the Viper key mod is so obviously I didn't do it. Still not sure how it got stolen. No one seems to know but it for sure happened none the less. Hopefully this is all over for us as this is our second stolen vehicle and both were recovered all screwed up. I don't wish bad shit on other people but it really is somebody else's turn.

Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes. I would be more active if the site wasn't blocked at work under the category of Pornography.
