Volt & Temperature Gauge Issue

I just recently purchased an 06 SRT10 QC as my second "Family" vehicle and it's Awesome! It has 83K miles and is in excellent shape, but does have a few minor issues as expected. One of which is an electrical issue where the Volts and Water Temp gauges are reading 1/4 to far up the scale (they don't return to 0 when the truck shuts off). I'm guessing there may have been a power surge/spike at some point over the years that may have offset these gauges permanently. Has anyone ever had this problem? I'm thinking I would have to replace these gauges to fix it. Other than that the engine runs great, has a slight ticking at idle which I understand is normal. Any help is appreciated.
