I see that the manufacture calls for mobil 1 10-30 but yet I just bought my truck and the previous owner only ran mobil1 20-50, I am wondering why and why do most other guys run this? What is the benefits?
from what I've read on here 2004 models were said to use 10w30 because 0w40 wasn't available at the time and 0w40 is called for on the 05-06 models. I have seen a lot of different opinions of oil choice on here though depending on climate and mileage on the motor. I have 92k on mine and I live in Louisiana... I'm curious to what would be suggested for my 2005 model..

i ran rotella diesel oil in my built motor
10qts of Mobil 1 0w40 for my 06. I also get the "special" white viper filter from the dealer. Btw I found Walmart had the best price for the Mobil 1.
