I am looking to see if anyone has an extra V1 radar detector they are looking to sell at a good price. I can not justify paying $400 right now (I just got my stage II, ordered exhaust, CAI).

If anyone has one for sale please let me know!

Good luck finding one, but I can tell you this: I got mine two days before Memorial Day weekend, and I did a lot of driving that weekend. I believe it has already paid for itself! :D

Very good unit, very sensitive, and very smart!!

You will love it! If you can't find an "Extra" it is worth the money, believe it!!

I have a Escort Passport 8500 X50 that every radar shootout has been proven to be comparable to the V1 that I would let go.

Let me know.

....that's only if you throw out V1's DF capability and bogey counter.

Nothing compares to the Valentine 1. Love it!!! Good luck finding someone that wants to actually sell one.

The new Passport 9500i will more than likely put the V1 to shame... GPS and everything... very nice piece of equip.

What it does is memorize where the local CVS is at (K-band).

Now, the price is higher than the V-1.
Still doesn't locate (DF) the transmitter or have two receivers.
However, it's sensitivity may be similar to the V-1.

Damn, I was hoping someone had an 'extra' one... I guess I will have to save up more $$. I just get caught in this little pickle of wanting to do more mods or getting a radar detector. I think the mods will get me in trouble if I don't get a good radar detector :(

Buy direct from Valentine 1 that way you get a warranty and the opportunity to upgrade over the years. I had one go dead on me after 3 years and it cost me next to nothing to upgrade to the next version. Good product and service if I might add. The one feature that sold me was the capability to point at which direction radar is being detected from. I have an Escort 8500 on my motorcycle and it works good I just got spoiled having the little arrow telling me which direction the radar was coming from.

i've owned them all, and the V1 is by far the best design, hands down. you Escort fanboys can keep trying to convince yourselves that the arrows and big lights don't matter, but they do.

btw, if you buy a used V1, make sure to run the serial # over on the V1 web site to ensure that you have the latest version.

(see bottom of this page - http://www.valentine1.com/upgrades/)

Woo-hoo I got one with the latest S/W (1.8) at a great deal! Thanks for all the great suggestions!

Got my V1 in April of 1997. Great unit.......

I go on road trips, where I share the driving with others. When I break out my V1 they say "I have the best radar detector there is". But the end of the trip, they almost always say. "Dam that Valentine works better than mine".

Patrick and I picked up the red truck and drove it back from Delaware Ohio. He brought anong his new just purchased V1 and I had my 1997 never upgraded V1. The detection range was almost indentical. The strange thing was on full logic mode mine had the same range as his on highway mode.

There were also times when his went off and mine didn't, and there was a cop.

I think it was a lasar hit. Strange how these things work differently.

The V1 is in my opinion the best there is. And yes the directional arrows are necessary for high speed driving. Knowing where the threat is coming from and how many are out there is a huge advantage.

I had my unit back at Valentine for the replacement of 2 directional light arrows a couple of years ago. The unit was years out of warranty, they repaired it at no charge and sent it back next day air at no charge.
I asked about up grading it and the tech said if it were him not to spend the money as I would not notice much differance.

It is great to buy something electronic that is not obsolete before I get it home.

I am almost finished installing my Bel RX75 Pro Plus Concealed. I think the install is going to be damned excellent, and well hidden. Wish I had a V1 to compare it with side by side.

I have a Passport 8500 and have not had a problem. :dontknow:

I'm not dissing the V1.... But, I don't drive "crazy enough" to really need the extra features. ;)

The Pass.. has saved me a couple times..... I would only think that someone constantly "breaking the law" would need anything more. :dontknow: Just IMO, tho. ;) :D

Jake, anyone that has a radar detector is probably breaking the law. LOL LOL LOL

the v1 will spoil you, my pops and brother both run passports and swear by them, but i love the arrows and bogey counter, even if you drive sane it helps to know where they are at.

I don't just break it I explode the law for driving lol I love my V1 I swear behind it. I had a Rocky Moutian Radar and that was the biggest pos I ever owned. I was driving with a buddy and he was in another car. He called me and asked why I was on the brakes, I said there was a cop and he passed me and got pulled over.
