When I first got my truck my pecker would fly up and hit the bottom of the dash on excited acceleration!!!

oh, so thats what that is... LMAO

seriously... i thought it was low-octane pinging, ran a full tank of 93 through her and it's still there...

im lost is the sound coming from the dash or the engine? if its coming from the dash its not pinging.......If it is coming from the engine and its pinging itd be a pretty obvious sound. it would sound like keys ratling or change in your pocket. I would guess its coming from the head if its engine noise your hearing (lifters or something)

Ok, at first I thought it was low-octane pinging, so I finished what the dealer had in the tank and put 93 in it... it didn't solve the issue. Basically what is happening is when you go WOT (either from a stop or rolling) i get this very noticable rattle, almost like somebody shaking a bottle full of pills, coming from the right side of the dash area.

I have it at the dealer now, with a viper tech in attendance, just thought i'd see if anybody in the forum had experianceed something similar

What are are you in? Have you ruled out that there is junk under your dash simply bouncing around? Take of the dash...the small piece closer to your windshield....there's kinda like a tray under there so if you dropped change it would just sit there.....

Other than that I would start it,listen to iit rattle and touch things to see if it stopped until I found what's making the noise....that is assuming that there is nothing mechanicaly wrong

haha you said rattle and touch it lol

Don't forget to check your center console too. I have had strange rattling of change from there before when flooring it. :burnout:

Troy, i'm the dude from the SRT10 forum with the truck Meangene and I were talking about....

Definateley internal man... Tell them to get there shit together, open the bitch up and fix it. Or find a new motor for it.

Had something simmilar (hard to tell through text without actually hearing it) on my truck, turned out to be a hub bearing fixing to fail. Luckily I got it fixed before there was any serious damage to my wallet

Update...

Got the truck back anf it is good to go... turns out all it was was the transmission dipstick tube hitting the firewall <whew>

Thanx to the forum for all the inputs...

J.
