Sound Clip-Deleted Muffler-WTF???

idk....

from one who has tryed everything !!!

if you want it to sound like a v8 - trade it in it will never happen,...

i have tryed no cats, stright pipes, no res, res, all diff types of mufflers x-pipes, h pipes 10 or 11 diff setups and i just cut it off again.....

the best sound that i had was - stock manifolds, deleted rear cat's magnaflow muffler, and the rear res still there on a 2.5" pipe

just my .02$

Ditto!

I ended up with full cat delete, and a MagnaFlow.

I thought everyone had headers....:D

But yes, I have MOPAR long tubes...and Roe mid-pipes...

the best sounding muffler/catback hands down for low rumble is B&B....... spend the money & you'll be happy.

here's a good example of a B&B exhaust:

Sleeper...let me make sure I understand this correctly. For now, until I get an SCT, remove the rear two cats and tie up the rear two O2 sensors. What is the reasoning for not removing the front two before a tune? Does it have to do with actually needing a tune or will it just throw a check engine light? I ask because I would rather just have all four removed at once instead of having work done two more times. Again, thanks for your guidance!

Not sure what everyone expects with these trucks… it’s a Viper V10 it will always sound “differentâ€, ya know? I mean it’s a different animal all together, and I think that’s what’s refreshing about it… Ive had more deep ruble cammed out V8 musclecars than I can count, and I LOVE that this truck has its own sound! These suckers put out some VOLUME in those pipes… that became evident when I started and moved my truck with the mids dumping before the cat-back was connected… HOLY SH!T I thought my windows were going to pop out of the truck it was SO deep… haha!! At this point I have Off Road Mids, Stock Manifolds, and the Magnaflow Cat-Back, I think it sounds great… maybe a liiiiittle louder than I think is perfect, but its close.

I knew it would have a different sound to it.....but did not expect the sound that I got. I don't mind it having it's own sound....just don't want that sound to replicate that of the Neon SRT I had. Just looking to take out a little of the raspyness and give it a little deeper rumble.

B&B is a local manufacturer here in Phx. Its bolt on and as close to V8 Rumble you'll ever get. BTW....Maricopa still requires cats and yes they do a visual inspection. In the mean time I'm glad your on the west side while I'm on the east side....don't have to listen to your loud obnoxious truck.;)

I agree that B&B is probably the best way to go....but they think pretty damn highly of their systems. And didnt want it to be loud and obnoxious. Just expected the same basic gains I got from deleting the muffler on my Hemi. Still very new to this truck, have a lot to learn about these motors. I made the mistake of thinking of it as a big block more than a sports car motor.

what Roe mids do you have with ur Mopar headers ?!?!?

He constructed them himself...

I don't think he ever produced them for production...

I was his prototype street top mount twin screw...

you can remove the back two cats & do nothing else...... still legal but does little else.... if you decide like alot of us & don't get visual inspections, go catless:

now if you want to swap catted mids in for catless when you do get visually inspected, get 'em flanged:

catless is worth ~ 50hp, best bang for the buck!!!

You can remove all 4 cats. What i was saying is the bank 2 sensors need to stay plugged in and zipped tied up somewhere. The bank 1 sensors need to stay in the exhaust since they read Air/Fuel levels. I heard the 06 need it done that way and the 04-05 you can just unplug them. But no mater what you do make sure you keep the bank 1 sensors plugged in and in the exhaust.

Thanks for the clarification! Some time soon, I will be taking the truck back to the exhaust shop to have them make some catless mids for me and have them flange my stock catted mids. This way I can throw the cats back on when it comes time for emissions. Just ordered the SCT from Torrie....so the real modding begins...lol!

Youll be very happy man. Next time im down in Az ill let cha know so you can check out my truck. Its a custom VT. Sittin on a nice light 1500 frame with a srt10 power plant

Do you suggest throwing a muffler back in...if so which one?

i would forsure. Im rocking two 3" round magnaflows. Part#12649 and i have a X pipe part# 10792. My pipe is by the tranny and then a few feet later i put the two magnaflow next to eachother.
