Do ya think you can paint the retrax tauno cover? i would like to do mine red, but not sure if you would have to totally dismantle it due to each piece is only about 1 inch across and if ya painted it I think it would all stick together.. but anyone have an idea how to accomplish this?

Thanks,

ya could do it in vinyl.

only prob is, its called a horizonal application & its not covered by the makers warranty.

i have graphics on my bed cover & it lasted a tick over 2 years before the sun ate it up.

Try calling Retrax and get their opinion on it. Maybe they have done it, or know people that have. You can't be the only one that doesn't want a black cover.

either way, i would disassemble the whole thing...

it's the best way to ensure you get proper coverage and no overlaps or edges to trap water and debris that will eventually try to chip the paint...

I have one...they say they are powder coated, so I imagine you could re- powder coat it. The two side track rails come off pretty easy, you should powder coat them red and leave the center black. Might look nice.

Hmm think im gonna pull her a part and see what I can do ...

I want to go red as I am planning on doing the nice fat painted stripes " white" this winter, as well as re spray the front end as its full of rock chips..

and then wrap her all in a plastic protection, sick of all these stupid chips.. truck looks like it went threw the war when you get up close and personal.. so if im gonna re spray the front might as well do the whole thing with some extra bling

Right on, I have a sand blasted front bumper as well, money well spent on the protection film after a fresh paint job. That is in my future as well. Good luck man, would like to see the Retrax when finished
