so it was a little after 3 and was returning home from some errands the other day, and just a block from my last turn, a little mid 80's El Camino runs up next to me. I don't think much of it till I see him shoot ahead a bit then back off.....window to window now I look over and this H.S. senior in his letter jacket and g/f next to him gives me the grin and points his finger forward...

I give a small chuckle to myself and nod back...thinking...this kid has NO CLUE what he's getting himself into.

I see the nose raise up on the crapino and he starts his mild pull ahead....

I pull her down in second, rev her up to 3000 some and dump the clutch...ass pitched slightly sideways I blow by him in a cloud of tire smoke and thundering Viper powered roar...

When I peered in my rearview mirror, I'm pretty sure I saw the dudes g/f laughing as she picked his jaw up off of his dash....

God I love this truck!

oh the lessons of life,lol:D:rock:

Had a similar encounter with a kid & his buds in a Mustang, waiting 1st in line at light, kid slides up, plays with gas pedal. Windows open, look over knowing kid wants to play, told him I didn't want to spank him in front of his friends, etc. He continued to talk smack, light went green, let him get out on me clearing the intersection, then nailed it. Blasted by him, smoking the tires, waited for him at next light. Pulls up with WTF look on his face, friends laughing their asses off, asked him how it felt to get spanked by Grampa in a TRUCK....

for sure,, when I was in highschool we use to race everything that moved.. lol

I laid the smack down on may grandpas lol and dudes double my age..

The funny thing after I spanked them there was a list full of excuses of why they lost lol

I had a few cars back then,, The one that was my fav was a 1990 Toyota Pickup that was slammed and had nice Chevy 350 and turbo 350 trani in it.. Did the work in my pops shop.. That thing was light as a feather and fast as hell.. It probably ran a 12.9 on a real good day...

Anyhow ran this one clown in 70s camaro kicked his ass by a full door length .. not much really lol.. but we got to the parking lot after and he was like my car is a 11 sec flat car there is no way you can beat me let me go home and get my slicks and do this and do that and race again lol... " reminds me of some of the clowns on here"

anyhow hell ya its on the driver.. If i crashed racing it sure as hell would not have been the other drivers fault..

why ? he is a adult he knows how to drive.

if the kid wrecks ....well thats on him :D:D:D:D:D

ain't there a vid of 2 corvettes????:dontknow::dontknow::dontknow::D:rock:

NOPE!! If a teenager wrecks and they can prove you are the other driver and an adult they will bust your ass....
If any one is hurt badly or dies you will be charged and go straight to jail.

maybe where you live it's like that. not here.

never even heard of that before to be honest.

A good lawyer would eat that up in court, hell if i was on a jury I would say not guilty.

and seeing he said the KID wanted to run, and took off first, well it's on him.

hell yeah, that video is awesome. that guy in the right hand lane had to feel like an ass.

whoever shot that video, could make some money by selling it to the insurance companys :D

They call it negligent homicide here, if someone dies in a wreck caused by racing. If there is just a wreck, and you are the other party they will pick you up on that as well. If they get a description of the vehicle that is. It doesn't matter who, or how old the other driver is, doesn't matter who picked the race for that matter. It takes two to have a race, and both parties are as responsible for everything that happens. He'll, you go straight to jail here just for street racing, the law has cracked down around here pretty stiff.

so if i seen 2 cars racing, one crashes, I can blame it on someone who I don't like. even if he was not there :dontknow:

I mean anyone can say they seen you, you kinda have to prove it in my eyes.

If someone spots you street racing, and that person phones in to report that cars description to police, if they find that car, they'll get pulled over and the officer will ask them where they were and what they were doing. If HE feels they aren't being truthful, he can hold them AND press charges if there is more evidence against 'em (like a second caller) Usually if nothing is done but the talk, then that's enough scare to stop the racer from doing it again for a while.

But in the event of someone putting risk to other peoples lives and that caused a wreck or death or anything that is to do with RACING, their car, license and all that.. kiss it goodbye. Witnesses have a lot of power there.

For instance, you don't like someone, so you take note of their license plate # and vehicle, you phone in (anonymous tip) about this person racing, and police do their regular patrol in traffic and spot this vehicle.
They'll pull them over and inquire about their where abouts prior to the call. If he gets another caller (say your buddy at a pay phone) then that might make the officer have to bring this person in for some questioning, in which case, it would be obvious if this was truth or not because family and friends would be contacted to share their side of who this person is and what they don't/do. But because it's all paperwork nowadays, the talk alone straightens some people up. Usually a slap on the wrist is what people who do race and get spotted by someone get, depending on the officer who's light lit up. It's not that easy to bust someone like that over a matter of some prank calls lets say. It's inconvenient to the person this is happening to, yes, but the force makes it pretty clear when they smell bullshit.

Racing has taken a lot of lives so I don't blame the officers for being black and white on the matter. Not every kid needs to be punished by getting hit with a golf club or bat if there's a mess up, sometimes just an authoritative figure with a charged manner can clean the grin right off their face like they think they feel they are the exception, because police have the power to fuck your life up if they see you as cause for concern on the road.

You want to find out the hard way. I don't know about you, but even if you got off, all the other problems like time away from work, money spent on lawyers, fines, toeing fees, inpound fees, loosing your license, bonding out of jail....etc

Is it really worth showing up a stupid high schooler who by law has no common sense yet?
