Lightning engine in a Ranger? Lol

besides the fact ita a ford and you could just buils a 347 stroker and get the same hp for cheaper....
 
That SVT Ranger, even being 1200lbs lighter than a L, still only did what the SRT quad cab does stock and at a much heavier weight.

It was only a one off concept truck. Im sure if it had gone into production there would have been many improvements but thats just speculation because obviously they never did. I hope that one day the sports truck market reemerges.

Im not sure why it performed so poorly. Thats not far off from stock L performance figures.

I used to be a big SVT guy, even had a SVT Focus putting down almost 300fwhp with a ProCharger. The truth is, SVT had a number of awesome concepts that got shot down. Instead of the Harley F-150, they should have done the Ranger, but Ford didn't want internal competition with their pride and joy Lightning. My favorite concept they had was the 10.0l Cobra in the mid-90s. That thing would have been a beast. Like I said, SVT had a number of great concepts that got shelved.

My favorite was this one. I would have bought one in a heart beat if they would have produced it.

That's a bad looking truck. Too bad Ford went the route of the shitty Roush trucks.
 
Don't you wish half of the concepts were made into production?
Even when they do, they alter them so much that they ruin them.
