I posted the other week that I had removed the chrome door handle covers the previous owner had put on my truck and the aftermath was a ton of 3M tape residue and crappy faded looking stock door handles. So as an experiment to improve the look of the handles I ordered the carbon fiber looking handle covers from Ebay and just got them today and put them on. Up close they have a somewhat grayish/silverish look to them, something a couple of guys were wondering about, but take a step back a few steps and I think they blend right in. It helps that my wheels and gas cap cover are flat black and not gloss and my taillights are smoked/clear and not solid black, so I think the handles look decent and blend in and they will look fine until I have time/money to do something more permanent with the handles. One of the vendors on the forum already contacted me about doing my handles with the carbon fiber look but making them more black looking than how these handles look, so that's something I will hopefully do later this year.

Not bad at all for a less then 50.00 dollar upgrade and im sure looks night and day compare to the faded and 3m'ed up handles lol

lol yeah looks way better than the 3M destroyed faded handle look I was rolling with this past week

I swear, those chrome handle covers must have had every single square inch of surface on the back of them lined with 3M tape. I'm not kidding when I say it took me close to an hour of blood, sweat, and almost tears to remove them they were stuck on so hard. Total pain in the ass. These handles use much less 3M tape and seem that they would be not hard to remove if need be.

No I put them on, they just lay over the stock handles. Took like 5 min to put them on.

In your situation it looks better than the messed up handles for sure. But I would never put those on perfectly good handles. After all it is still FAKE Carbon Fiber.

Some guys have done painted handles,
Grand Cherokee door handles were smooth and could be painted if you didn't want to sand the stock ones if I remember right.

But I think it's a good quick fix for you that was worth it until you decide what to do permanently. Looks better than I thought it would.

yeah man agreed. I don't want them long term, just a quick solution to get me by.

Looks great man. I have been using Mother's back to black on my handles, turned out to be a great temp fix for the time being.

Nice..I wish I could do that. Only problem is the previous owner put chrome door handles and not just the covers the whole handle is solid metal. I may buy carbon fiber laminate and see if I can't cover them.
