I'm moving to Missouri for the Army and had to get my truck weighed today because I'm doing a partial DITY (do it yourself) move and with my rank I'm allowed a 600lbs allowance for moving my stuff. At any rate, completely emptied the truck, removed all loose items, even had my gf take her purse out when we got on the scales and was down to less than a gallon of gas. Weighed in a full 22lbs under factory weight at a nice even 5550lbs. Stock weight, IIRC, is 5572 (I have a QC). Weight loss is probably due to shedding the factory muffler and resonator and going with dual Flowmaster mufflers. I'm glad to see what my truck weighs so that if/when I remove things to save weight I'll be able to know what my truck actually weighs and know how much weight was removed if I were to weigh it again.

You're only allowed 600 lbs?? Is that because it's a partial? I always do a full DITY... make that money!:D

Supposed to only be 400lbs more than the RC, not sure why yours weighs so much less. Car and Driver said their 04 RC weighed in at 5150, so IDK if there is a difference in scales, or if they weighed with gas in the tank or what the deal was, but at least with how I weighed my truck, it came in 22lbs less than what other sites weighed in stock with an 05 QC.

It's a partial and I'm going TDY en route to my duty station. I have to go to Engineer BOLC for 19 weeks and then head to Campbell. The government is storing my household goods while I'm at Leonard-Wood and then will deliver them when I report to Campbell. I had to do it all this way because they won't deliver my stuff to Missouri, which wouldn't make sense anyways since I'm only going there TDY. If I was doing a normal PCS move my weight allowance would be much higher.

Gotcha. You'll be making some pretty decent coin TDY all that time anyways;)

Yep, will be getting full per diem while I'm there plus they are putting me up in my own room in the government quarters, so not barracks but more like a hotel room with my own bathroom and kitchenette, so I can't complain.

Good deal. When I reclassed(4 months TDY) they had me in a hotel off post. I got re-embursed for the gas money, plus the TDY and all that, plus the DITY. It was pretty sweet... paid for my motor build lol:D

haha yep if my math is right (probably not) I'll make like $7200 in TDY over 4 months while I'm there. The full per diem rate is $60/day, so yeah, if that ends up being what I get, I'm thinking maybe a built tranny and a little engine work like a cam, TB, and tune, or maybe ported/polished heads :)
