As I was leaving work in Mexico, I noticed a black SRT8 parked by the side of the road. I run a very aggressive tune during the winter that I remove when the weather gets warm. When I saw the Challenger my first thought was "I wish I hadn't taken my tune off last weekend. Oh well." I blipped the throttle as a drove by, but I didn't really think he would take the bait. I was wrong. He whipped out of the parking lot and followed me.

First run was a 40 pull, so I was at the very top of first. I didn't see him again until I let off in 3rd.

The next run could have been a dig from the light, but he was careful not to come to a complete stop. We each rolled up to, then through the light. I gave him the hit at about 20 MPH. I immediately pulled by him again, letting off when I grabbed third.

At the next light there was a car in front of him. I sat part of the way through a green light so we could go one more time. Before he ever got next to me I heard him way up in the RPM's. I assume he tried to get it from a dead stop and blew the tires off. Regardless, when he got next to me I stood on it and pulled away. I let off about half way through second. When he passed me, he was all smiles and gave me a thumbs up. The car didn't sound stock, but looked to have the stock exhaust tips, so I don't know if he had any mods. When I was in front of him his car had a LOUD whine...

Great Kill bro! I haven't had the chance at a 392 Chally but I eat the 6.1 SRT 6 speeds with ease;) They are still fat bastards:(
After weight reduction, full bolt ons and a cam they are plain nasty;)

Nice, the Srt8's are dogs from a dead stop and not that great from a roll but in the highway you gotta look out

Thanks guys. It was not a 6.1, not a 6.4. Regardless is was the most fun I've had in awhile. I'm anxious to get to the track this summer. What technique do you use to launch on street tires?

I have, and not really sure why they come off the line so well, besides the AWD. We put drag radials on my widest 300 Srt and it won't spin them at all and stilk only pulls a 2.0 60ft

+1. I had no problems getting my MSRT8 to hook up and it didn't come out of the hole near as hard as the Jeeps I have driven.
