CLUNK when I go WOT....

Hey guys..

Car recently started audibly going CLUNK everytime I go WOT. Almost sounds like the intake is detonating or something.... Not sure what's going on. At first I thought it might be a driveshaft or something because I can sort of feel the vibration on the pedal but then I put my buddy in the car and he said he could hear it coming from the intake... like a intake detonation... Only happens at WOT.... And only sometimes.. It's not constant. It seems to happen more when I WOT at speeds of under 10mph. When I did it at around 50mph+ it was non existent.

Betting it's a backfire in the intake. You still need to have your truck scanned for the issues it had last week or whenever. Something is still not right bro.:dontknow:

Yeah I know. I feel like I bought a used truck with lots of problems.
Can you believe the owner had never once changed spark plugs in 45k miles. They spark plugs were so bad that half of them were EATEN.... I was amazed.

I'm actually fighting with myself not to sell it.... I can get $37,500 for it (we have huge import taxes... it cost me $31,000 to get it here). Looking at getting a F250 turbo diesel or something if I do sell it... But I like this truck more than my play car (boosted 5th gen camaro)... Just that it has too many problems.

Might have a burned valve. Is there any indication of Nitrous being used in this engine? Maybe do a compression test and a leak down test and see what condition the engine is in.

Spare tire loose under the back end? Make sure its tight or it swings around on the cable.

That's what I was thinking too. Happened in my 04 Hemi Quad cab.

clunk would maybe sound like a motor mount or trans mount being bad or broke.

is it a clunk or banging pop sound. cause you are giving 2 different sounds.
