Hey, new owner here and I have a quick question, are these engines supposed to be "noisy", not a knocking or anything like that, more like a tapping/ticking at idle. Runs awesome, real strong just wanted to know. Thanks, I'm sure I will have a lot more questions so bear with me. LOL

I'm a new owner too, the V10's(8.0L and 8.3L) have always been loud by nature that's why most people think they sound like a UPS truck. If it doesn't sound abnormal and it's just louder than it's good.

Just a lot of tapping and ticking. They are a beast thats for sure. Just wanted to put my mind at ease, thanks.

The 8.3 has fast bleed lifters. You will hear the valve train at idle

The injectors are also noisy

Thanks, you guys have put my mind at ease!! Now for more questions, trans fluid and diff fluid changes, I need the low down on the best fluids to use. Will be doing this in the next few weeks.

Roger that, Mobile1 or Redline, Which is best? What about the rear diff for the dana?

for the rear diff....Mobil 1 75W-140 and two bottles of MOPAR friction modifier.

Mobile1. in the trans and rear diff it is!!! Thanks for the info. Is 5 qts for the trans enough, and how many for the diff? I'll pick it all up today.

I could swear that it says straight 90w for the rear diff with the friction modifier...
