Shifter knob removal??

Easy question, what is the proper way to remove/unscrew the OE Hurst shifter knob without damaging anything?:dontknow: With my luck I'll screw something up...LOL Thanks again as usual......:rock:

On mine, there was a, I believe, 1/2 nut on the bottom side of the knob. Just loosened that with a wrench and the knob came off with it. My shift knob is also messed up already so don't take my method as fact.

loosen jam nut on bottom of knob and should screw right off.

I resembled it up until about 2 weeks ago too, no disrespect, but that OEM shifter sucks balls.

Yes, yes I am. I do still want to try a JTSVP gen 1 or 2 just for comparison.

I have the gen 2 and it makes the Hurst feel like a regular turd truck shifter.

Got it installed today, big difference from the oe hurst in feel and looks. The JTS is built like a tank, adjusted it and now need to get used to driving it!!!!!!
