My first problems with the SRT-10

I recently purchased my srt10. Put roughly 120miles on her. And the shifter started to get looser and looser the more I drove. Removed the cup holder n what not and discovered this

I'll be contacting hurst tomorrow to see if I can get a new handle and upgrade bolts at a hardware store.

Was there no rubber bushing in there?

Forgot this picture. It shows the broken bottom bolt. After seems as if its happened to a few other members.

I have a factory shifter thats been chopped about 3 inches if you want it.

No sir. Where exactly would the rubber bushing go? Inside the bolt holes?

Yeah wish I had pictures, there is a black u shaped rubber lined metal bracket with 2 studs from the factory. It looks like the previous owner took it out the get a more solid feel from the shifter, a search my pull up an old thread a lot of guys used to do it.

Yep. It was a bushing that went between the two pieces of the handle to reduce vibration. Pretty sure when I took mine out that I reused it, just on the other side of one of the handle pieces? Contact VPRPWRD if you don't end up with RAMDUDE's shifter, and he can get you taken care of.

Jimbo, I had mine for less than 12 hours and snapped that Hurst shift handle where the top bolt is. Funny to hear a similar story.

A fellow Marine? You still wearing the uniform?

Nope. No 90 day warranty. If i did have one I wouldnt use it, I enjoy getting my hands dirty, no big deal.
