    Truck is lowered a lil and has aftermarket mufflers, I've got a jtsvp underdrive pulley on the way and possibly a volant cai, what would you reccomrnd next? I'm thinking Torries sct and a jtsvp TB, but man I want gears!

    Alright guys, 4.88's are on the way, just sent Tony the $ woohoo! As for headers, I'm gonna wait on a used set, $1800 is just not in the books right now.

    4.88's are the next best step up from the 4.56 stock gears??
    how higher are your RPM's at 80mph when comparing 4.56 vs 4.88??

    do all the bolt ons first then buy a tune...so you can get the most out of your add ons

    Since you got the gears on the way, I highly recommend looking into an upgraded clutch if you don't already have one. I installed my 4.88's and had the reared rebuilt in October of '08 and my clutch was done 2k miles later. 3rd gear is where it started slipping, as there really wasn't traction in 1st and 2nd :D and no better time to install a new clutch when you will already have a break-in period, might as well do them at the same time.

    He is moving up from 4.10's.
